If I was smart I woulda understood this comic [May. 19th, 2009|09:30 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]

It's funny!

I didn't get it until a friend LOLed at it today. He had to explain it to me.

Arrrgh the withdrawal. I updated all my addons and started reading up on more fights. It helps a little with the pain. Why the hell does Blizz need eight hours for maint? OS tonight, Naxx tomorrow! I love Tankspot, have loved for a long time, will love for a long time. I want to do something other than Arachnid and Plague someday =\ Maybe the 10 man on the 24th.

Such lucky drops for me.

I made much wipe but still didn't get kicked.

My first non-VOA raid in Wrath.

Whee [Mar. 7th, 2009|02:51 pm]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]

AR is waiting for Snus, I just can't figure out how to play mage. But Ethics and Moominmamma are doing well, I'm almost 30 and he already is. Ethics just needs some work to bring up mining skill. 3x skillups along with 3x xp would be nice ;)

Yesterday morning, I finally bought my Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, since Moominpappa was 78 when I looked.

Ran regular HoS early this morning, my first time there, with guildies 7, Dark, Moomurs, and Warbucks. And they let me practice tanking.

That was actually my first time tanking as party leader. They made me do it, wouldn't do it for me T.T After the first two groups, I gave up on marking -_- We didn't need it anyway. They made up for my suxiness. Had to tank a lot for me too. Warbucks probably did more tanking for tribunal than I did. They good at explaining fights and Ag kept me alive. I missed playing instances, it was awesome. It takes a lot of roxness to clear an instance with me in the group, my guildies really rox :P Oh yeah, I'm so noob I ran out of ammo ahaha. I charged, I taunt pulled, or someone else pulled. Oh well, we did all of it, and it took way too long and had way too many deaths and there was way too much DK-saving-the-stupid-warr going on, but there were no wipes (and no use for mammoth yay).

Anti and I planted bunching onions and napa cabbage and stuff today, lettuces and parsley and stuff yesterday, and four types of cilantro the day before that. The lettuce better germinate soon, and I sure hope the spiraly brassicas germinate and make lots of seeds and, well, are spiraly like the mommies. Some seeds we started in trays sit on the surface, I hope I mist them often enough that they don't dry out!

I'm not sure if diluting 2 or 3 oz of 2% (presumably w/w) chlorhexidine gluconate in a gallon of water is really enough to disinfect anything. And I only found conflicting information on how broad spectrum it is, some claiming it works against both gram positive and negative bacterias, viruses, fungi, etc and others saying it's ineffective except against some bacteria (or fungicidal only at high concentrations). Oh well, if we get white fuzz on seedlings again, we'll have to figure something out -_- I really don't want to handle chlorhexidine diacetate though, that stuff is scary (for pathogens as well as for mammals of course).

Nagi seems to be doing well, but I should probably close some Fx tabs. I bet that's what's making her slower than when I first got her. I just have six or so windows with a gazillion tabs each. I used to bookmark all tabs a lot and close stuff when Marril got way too slow, I should get in the habit of doing that regularly. Why do I have so many tabs open when I'm not looking at them anyway?

It's been a busy few days! [Feb. 10th, 2009|01:04 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]

I ran ALL of BRD for the first time on the 8th. Got the achievement, too :P So much fun trying to figure out all the boss fights! So many deaths (my level 50 friend, not me) during the learning experience! Although fewer than before...

I think now that I'm getting familiar with it, I can run lowbies through regularly for gear/quests. Some nice stuff drops.

I ran my first heroic on the 7th too, UK. Emblems of Heroism yay. I wish people would stay up more :P

Sooo close to my Tempered Titansteel Helm. Just need to get one bs's titansteel bars. GM was kind enough to offer me a Frozen Orb so I don't have to watch AH all the time waiting for prices to go down again ^^

The account linking is imba. The duo toons with 3x xp will probably hit 60 in not too long, even though we don't play them all that much.

Finally got my boots [Jan. 21st, 2009|04:30 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]

Death-Inured Sabatons! Got a few obstacles on various days so it's a bit late but today I got them. They so rox. Now I only have 4 green items of my dps gear.

I have a gazillion Relic of Ulduars and kept them hoping the rumors of turning them in for Sons of Hodir rep were true. They were but I got to exalted before the patch. Gah.

I should go fishing again. Yay for new fish recipe.

Blizz just makes the game easier and easier. And more standardized. Don't they know that variety is the spice of life?

[mood | amused]

Onyxia Blood Talisman mwahaha.

One prot warrior and one resto shaman. Wiped once because during phase 2 I forgot all about keeping my back to the wall and I went flying in phase 3 to somewhere I shouldn't have gone >.<

It's hardly something to be proud of but rather like Kara, it's something I used to really want to do. It's not quite the way I had imagined but it's far better than nothing :D

Shield slam IS soooo worth it when soloing, I'm just s2pid [Jan. 12th, 2009|10:32 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]
[mood | cheerful]

I realized just a day or two ago that I need to be in defensive stance, with as much block value as possible, and spam Revenge and Devastate for Sword and Board. Forget the -10% dmg, it's the constant SS and the Revenge that makes up for it. Now I think I'm probably killing faster than I was as fury spec in zerk stance dual wielding 2h weapons o.O

10285 honored with Argent Crusade
10350 revered with Knights of the Ebon Blade
12900 revered with the Sons of Hodir!!!!!!!!!!

And I haven't even finished my dailies yet today.

P.S. 20 slot bags > 16 slot bags :D I'm bringing along all my tank gear, fishing gear, etc and don't run out of space. Still want that mammoth though :P Too bad I didn't get to run much last weekend.

First day on Nagi, first time tanking a level 80 instance [Jan. 9th, 2009|06:04 pm]
[Current Location |sitting at Nagi]
[mood | tired]
[music |whatever it is that plays in Dalaran]

Sometimes I was off tank, but it still counts, right? We wiped a few times, but that's to be expected when I'm around, right? It wasn't nearly as many deaths as Kara.

No more dailies needed for Honored with the Kirin Tor, I'm there already. If I keep running 80s I might get another 1k gold discount, hmmmmm...

19887 hp, 20603 armor, 497 defense, 14.6% dodge, 14.93% parry, 12.88% block, but 0 resil :P

Soon heroics??

Gah I need to sleep 2 hours ago but still chores to do =\

I'm not sure whether I should keep the name Nagi for this computer. Oh well, good enough, right? Marril isn't in hell, she's reborn as Hayate and probably a future file server. Now Lappy has more friends :D

Revered with the Sons of Hodir [Jan. 7th, 2009|07:34 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Marril]
[mood | jubilant]

1050 rep in and I was thinking I'd have to wait to do another daily at 3 am tomorrow! I found more Everfrost today than any previous day.

I tried a few instances (including Kara, haha, even with me at level 80 we couldn't take Moroes with only me and two others, so we got a few more people) and met some great people, got much better gear, and even tanked the last one.

Unfortunately, I didn't plan ahead for prot spec. I was dual weilding 2h with Titan's for soloing, and had nothing but Hammer of Quiet Mourning and Saronite Bulwark to solo with -_- Shield slam is so not worth it when soloing, although it was better than nothing. I replaced the shield with some 1h quest green. So as soon as I hit Revered, I bought Broken Stalactite and actually considered buying another, but I'll ask my GM about it (and the 1h axe). Also bought Spaulders of the Giant Lords and retired my old Gladiator's Plate Shoulders. Yes, until recently, almost all my gear was quest greens, and I kept my BC stuff for a looong time.

As I requested for clarity, in my guild note is "hopelessnub4Evr" and one of my nicknames is "Moot"--I love it.

Happy day. I want more and more Everfrost. And my shoulder enchant. I'd like to have Spiked Titansteel Helm crafted soon; it would be worthy of Arcanum of Torment. I'm happy about being 1695 Revered with Knights of the Ebon Blade too, I hope I get to do my dailies for them sometime today. (God, Vile is so cute.) Need my Death-Inured Sabatons.

MOO!

I hope I get to run something this weekend [Dec. 30th, 2008|06:58 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Marril]
[mood | hopeful]

(12/29/2008 10:59:40 AM) Weatherlight: hah i'm the squishiest warr evar. 13k hp, 9251 armor, 396 defense, 5.53% dodge, 9.84% parry, 4.84% block, 419 resil

Really, the squishiest plate evar. There are rogues with much better hp/armor/etc. But that's ok. I'll rep grind and start picking stuff up in regular 5 man instances. Friend will get me a good talent build and I'll try defensive stance soloing to get used to the skills. I've never once used Intervene. Not once! And it's been a year since I used Revenge!

I might never raid but I want to run something around my level. Something. Something. Anything.

Snowy today [Nov. 17th, 2008|04:07 pm]
[mood | sleepy]

Shoveling snow is fun. But when we walked to the store, I stepped in water--twice. My foot was teh froze :( I will get boots someday. Our steel hose is heavy (yes, we left it outside until today, we're bad). Robin likes to watch anime with us, except she doesn't watch any. Some of the cabbage family stuff still seems to be doing ok despite being covered in snow. Kitty was (cutely) kneading on the bed earlier, he hit my side with his paw and it hurt. Chewing gum helps a lot with dry mouth. The diggies like baby cucumbers. There were earthworms in the compost.

It was a good day. Now I am tired. Gnite.

Sad times [Nov. 5th, 2008|05:36 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Marril]
[music |Within Temptation - See Who I Am]

Might sound funny coming from me, as I pay almost zero attention to politics and used to be pro-new welfarism (mostly thanks to influence from PETA and Peter Singer), but I am now a total abolitionist (mostly thanks to influence from Gary Francione) and believe that AW is both ineffective and hurts AR, therefore I am sad about prop 2. As a supporter of HR, I am very very sad about prop 5. Makes me wish I was still in CA and could cheat :P

Angry about Earll representing most of Erie County. I really wanted Purvis to win. Earll really pissed me off by sending me spam begging for my vote and bragging about her stupid, ignorant, harmful "accomplishments."

At least McCain and Palin didn't win *shudder*. That's one relief.

I guess I stop commenting on stuff I have no control over and go shopping instead.

I am afraid I act like a fatalist and lack selfefficacy these days. The 14 y/o me would find it depressing and shameful :(

How many other people would complain like this?

me: http://main.deathgod.org/near-toys/ obsessive to read the ENTIRE manga and watch the ENTIRE anime over again in a row to put this together, no?

Anti: they didn't try to count the dice? that's not very obsessive of them :/

Oh, and Anti's the one who pointed out that McCain must've won, stupid wimpy old white guy. Nooooes don't let it come true! If anyone was reading this, I'd say to get out there today and vote all Dem :P

If this doesn't convince people that we need help eating our tomatoes, beans, and kale, I don't know what will. (This is recent. I took all these pics yesterday afternoon.)

Actually the kale plants are getting pretty weird now. I'm a bit afraid of them.

Fresh Free Kale and Tomatoes! [Aug. 29th, 2008|10:51 am]
[Current Location |sitting at Marril]

Three different varieties of kale and four types of tomatoes (including cherry tomatoes). Oh yeah and giant brussels sprouts plants. And other stuffs.

We compost so much of what we grow T.T

Sometimes jkxx has a meal of more than 10 large tomatoes o.O He doesn't like to waste tomatoes. He likes to eat tomatoes. Unfortunately, the tomato plants produce fruit faster than even he can eat them.

There's no way he can eat all the hot peppers, so we bought a dehydrator. We can make pepper powder! More homemade kimchi! :D

Bad Hail, Bad! :( [Aug. 2nd, 2008|01:27 pm]
[Current Location |sitting at Marril]
[mood | sad]

My garden...my plants...

Some were snapped at the stem. Some had ripped leaves. Some had holes in leaves. Or some combination of the aforementioned.

Of the fruits, some peppers and tomatoes were broken. Some, especially tomatoes, were on the ground (but at least the tomato plants took relatively little damage). Anti tied up most of the melons in burlap, so hopefully that protected them somewhat, but one untied one was cracked. jkxx ate most of it, I tried a little, but it wasn't exactly ripe, also it seemed mostly seeds and rind, and I didn't care for either :P

Anti said to look on the bright side, once we pull up the killed plants we'll have room to plant the fall/winter season seedlings. Sigh.
